About the practice

My passion has always been to work for myself, and I’ve had a determination since leaving university to achieve this. Since gaining my accountancy degree in 1997 and subsequently going onto qualifying with the ACCA, I have had extensive experience working in accountancy practices. I am lead auditor trained and have experience in managing two accountancy practices; managing a portfolio of 250-300 clients, ranging from sole traders and small family owned limited companies. This has given me a good insight into the needs of small businesses.

So where am I now? I made the decision to start my own business in September 2005, with only a handful of clients to start with. It was a little daunting at first, but this didn’t phase me. I have always been a determined person and I am dedicated to ensuring my services meet and exceed my clients’ expectations. My business has grown from strength to strength primarily through client recommendation; and continues to grow to this day.

Having good client relationships, understanding their needs and delivering on time is crucial to any business. I am committed to visiting clients when it is convenient for them, offering early morning, late evening and weekend appointments. Even while away from the office; and knowing there is something significant occurring with a client’s business, I will always be on the end of the phone should they need me, even if it is just for assurance and peace of mind.

Some clients start a conversation with “I am sure this is a silly question but…..” Sound familiar? My immediate response has always been, “It’s not silly at all. It’s important that you understand and I’m happy to help”. I would like my clients to feel they can ask me any question without feeling embarrassed. I have been known to be on the telephone to clients late at night assisting them with their needs.

I now have over 100 clients ranging from sole traders through to limited companies. I have remained with what I know best through my 25 years’ experience working in practice, by focusing on clients that are small family run businesses who are seeking an effective accountant.

I have always been, and always will be committed, ethical and integral in all my business dealings.
